Well I am just about finished that poster/mailer/brochure for the art council. Meet with the president tomorrow and the printers and should be able to finalize it. Ahhhh.....the joys of volunteerism...lol.

Took down J and A's swimming pool today...they have not swam in it for a few weeks. Before taking it down, Jamie confirmed it was toooooo cold to use anymore when he dunked his head in the cold water. Kids!....Just have to see for themselves......The joys of self exploration. Should never lose that notion as an adult. I guess we all have that inner child inside us...and should probably let him/her out more often to play.

Jamie has lost a couple more baby teeth. I joked with him that he looks more like a real bubba now.......lol......he knew I was just teasing him. He is still as cute as ever. Andrew is enjoying preK....especially when he is not getting in trouble. He is a different cut of cloth than Jamie. He has a mind of his own and has a bit of trouble not listening in school. But he is still just 4 and is bright little guy.

Well better get laundry done and prepare for school tomorrow.

If you want to find a deeper meaning in your life, you can't find it in the opinions or the beliefs that have been handed to you. You have to go to that place within yourself. -Wayne Dyer-

Hi, Here is the website address for the art dept. http://www.sosu.edu/departments/art It has been a nice albeit rainy day here. Taught at the lifestyle center this morning and had a good group. I teach a clay workshop there about once a month when they get a new group of guests. They seem to usually enjoy it and gets their minds off their health problems. I like doing it, plus they pay me well to do it.....lol.
Time to pay some bills, yuck. Oh well have to do what you have to do.

Well another week has blown by......Hard to believe it is Saturday again. I seem to not have time to blog during the week. Jamie and Andrew are here for visitation and are doing well. Playing together and laughing. They do get along quite well. They have infectious laughs.....lolololol...as they are laughing as I type. Poor cat, Smokie, is the basis for the laughter. She is getting manhandled for no apparent good reason.

School is getting back to normal with Gleny back at work. My classes are going well and a few students are doing some surprizingly creative things. Nice to see. I need to take some pics of the works in progress and document to the art dept website.

The poster, mailer, and website I created was well received by the rest of the board members at our meeting last week. So my time was not wasted on those efforts.

Well I need to go make dinner and feed these guys.

Yahoo!
Ahhhh.........Sunday....the day of rest, time to reflect on the past week and start to perceive what the week ahead has in store. Well it has been quite a week at work, Gleny's (art department chair aka my boss) sister passed away suddenly from a brain aneurism. Very sad. Gleny was gone most of the week, as her sister resided in Cincinatti, which left Greg (art historian) and myself to hold down the artistic fort. Glenda, (not to be confused with Gleny), the art department secretary has been in and out of the art dept very infrequently, as her husband is gravely ill with some sort of intestinal cancer....a very slow and agonizing way to go. From this perspective it does not seem like a banner year for life and merriment at the art ranch.
Along with teaching and preparing for my regular studio and lecture classes, I have been keeping busy with learning more about computer graphics and the like. I did a couple of logos on Photoshop with some 'dazzling' effects'. I will use them at some point on the art dept. website. Computers certainly seem to have become an overwhelming influence on myself and what I do. I am sure many others can concur.
In the midst of all this, I managed to throw several large pots, six to be exact. Very nice to get my hands back in clay for my own enjoyment. I have a number of shows coming up and I need to get some new work done. So I need to get my butt in gear. I have a sculpture, which I started last summer, which I need to complete, and I need to do several more. Ahhhh.....the distant memories of grad school......when I did as much artwork in few months as I seem to do in a few years now.
As I type, Jamie and Andrew are playing co-operatively on the Gamecube. They are such a pleasure to have around. I have been blessed with 2 very good sons.
As for next week, Gleny will be gone Monday to Memphis for her sister's services. My classes seem to going along smoothly, not too much bitching from my students from being overworked. I have to get a poster/brochure/mailer finished for local art council in which I am a board member. I have most of it together, just need to work on the finishing touchs, unless of course they hate it and I have to start over...lol. Hell they better like it....what do they want from volunteer labor.

To rectify a complaint with regards to the lack of creativity of my blog site, I have now renamed it.
Well thanks to my brothers, I have started to Blog. Now I guess I have to think of something to blog about. Gosh, it is fun using a new verb....wonder when it will show up in Webster's......hmmmmm. Wellll........here it is Saturday and I am about to learn and do more stuff on Photoshop, Pagemaker and Illustrator. Ahhhh....the world of Adobe. Fortunately, I really enjoy trying to figure out and use these computer programs. I have been putting what I have learned to good use. making brochures, postcards and mailers for the art department.
Well enough about that, I have Jamie and Andrew this evening and tomorrow for visitation and as usual, look forward to their being here. They are growing so fast, hard to believe.
Well I best get started on them there graphics.
